Alvin Robert Meyer, 70, of Jamestown, South Carolina, husband of the late Frances McLawhorn Moore Meyer passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Alvin was born December 30, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Frederick William Meyer, Jr.and Mary Constance Jamison. He served in the National Guard and was retired as a Parts Manager with Sealand Shipping. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, woodworking, racing, his tractors, as well as the guitar lessons he had started.

He is survived by his daughter, Constance M. McDaniel of Mount Pleasant, SC; his step-daughter, Cynthia Kaye Eastwood of Wallace, NC; his step-son, Donald Gene Moore of Ayden, NC; his grandchildren, James Alvin Moore and Dana Leigh Moore; his brother, Frederick W. Meyer, III of Careywood, ID; and his sister, Constance Shoakes of Hernando, FL. Alvin is also survived by a special friend and companion, Debra D. Howey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Youngberg.
