Alvena Walters Carswell, 85, widow of Michael John Carswell, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The relatives and friends of Alvena Carswell are invited to attend her Graveside Memorial Service on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Alvena was born on September 13, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Alvin P. Walters and Ethel L. Meyers Walters. She was an avid Braves fan, tennis fan and loved to work in her garden. She also worked at Wal-Mart for ten years and worked at the Rabbitt Photo Booth at Moultrie Shopping Center for a number of years.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael J. Carswell, Jr. and wife Marianne of Palmdale, CA and Daniel H. Carswell and wife Treasure of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter Ann Lyles and husband Randy of Moncks Corner, SC; her son of the heart "Skippy Teller" of Mt. Pleasant and daughter/granddaughter, Candice Carswell Walker and her husband Chris of Charleston: 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Alvin Walters of Cottageville, SC and Johnny Walters of Florida; a sister: Ruth Paul of Hanahan, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, faithful companion, Susie.
