Alma Carson Cattles, 97, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Seaman Cattles, Jr. entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. North Area Chapel.
Alma was born April 29, 1918 in St. Matthews, SC, daughter of the late Clarence Carson and Freddie Carson. She was a homemaker and loved to cook.
She is survived by six sons, Roy Cattles (Roxanne) of North Charleston, SC, Floyd Cattles (Candice) of North Charleston, SC, James Cattles (Nancy) of Charleston, SC, Clyde Cattles of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wayne Stanley Cattles of North Charleston, SC, and Donald Clifford Cattles (Mary) of GA; five daughters, Edith Lee of Sumter, SC, Lily Cattles of NC, Doris DeFee of Charleston, SC, Vernell Morris (Bill) of Lexington, SC and Stella Marie Roth (Tommy) of Summerville, SC; one brother, Curtis Carson (Helda) of West Columbia, SC; 42 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thanks to Celia Lynn Morrow and Delia Bowman, both of Columbia, SC, for their love and compassion.
Alma was preceded in death by one son, Ricky James Cattles and one daughter, Annie Fitts.
