Allyson Jordan Key, 38, of Charleston, joined with her Heavenly Father Thursday, September 12, 2013. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in The Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul at 10:00 am. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Allyson is survived by parents Don and Susan Schweiger of Charleston and Michael and Connie Key of The Villages, FL, brother Andrew Key (Lauren); step sisters Genevieve Schweiger and Sandra Hernandez; step brother Nicholas Schweiger; grandmother Peggy Key; aunts and uncles, John and Anna Ellerbe; Frank and Myra Menna; Raymond and Mary Schweiger; April Mitchum and dear friend Amy Jenkins Baldwin.
Allyson attended First Baptist High School and graduated from St. Margaret's Episcopal High School. She attended Winthrop University and graduated from Roper School of Nursing. She found her calling in nursing and initially was employed as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Allyson was employed as Household Manager by the family of Heyward and Anne Rivers Siddons. Regarding Allyson, Mrs. Siddons stated, "She lit up my life."
