Allison Eugene Gibbs

Allison Eugene Gibbs, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Jessie O'Connell Gibbs, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 21, 2023. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. His funeral service will follow at the cryptside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 1:00 pm. 

Allison was born May 29, 1931 in Hendersonville, North Carolina, son of the late Willie E. Gibbs and Oda Guice Gibbs.  He graduated with a Business degree from The Citadel in 1958. He was a Professional Photographer for The Post and Courier and also made a career in real estate. He was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served time in England and learned photography. He also earned his private pilots license. He was active in church and The Full Gospel Business Mens Group.

He is survived by his two daughters, Gladys Keniston (Tony) of Charleston, Terri Ward (Randy) of Charleston; two sons, Patrick Gibbs of Charleston, Mark Gibbs of Charleston; five granddaughters, Britney Powell (Keith), Jessica Keniston, Christina Keniston, Cheri Ruocco, and Amy Ward; four great granddaughters, Isabella, Adelle, Mia Rose, and Jessie Mae; and brother, Leonard Gibbs of Charleston.

Memorial donations may be made to Promedica Hospice.
