Allene "Pinky" Phillips Hightower, 84, wife of the late Arthur E. Hightower of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The relatives and friends of Allene "Pinky" Hightower are invited to attend a "Gathering of Friends" on Monday, December 17, 2012 at J. HENRY STUHR INC. MOUNT PLEASANT LOCATION from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Pinky was born on March 16, 1928 in Glendon, North Carolina, daughter of the late Bennie Tillman Phillips and Martha Ann Johnson Phillips. She was an avid animal lover and she loved to play bridge. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the wonderful caregivers and nursing staff at Sweetgrass Assisted Living. In particular, the gracious care of Lisa, Emilee, Miss Salley, and Kaffie.
She is survived by her sister, Delores Warren of Aberdeen, NC; brother, Talmadge Phillips and his wife, Margaret, of Asheboro, NC; nephew, Arthur W. Hightower Sr. and his wife Sandy, of Mount Pleasant, SC and a number of other nieces and nephews; two special friends, Sara Kay Summers of Hanahan, SC and Earl Baum of Mount Pleasant, SC.
