Allen M. Roy

Allen M. Roy, 68, of Summerville, SC, husband of Sandra Ballentine Roy, died Monday, August 22, 2011, peacefully at home.

Born September 7, 1942 in Berlin, NH he was one of five children of Stanley Roy and Marjorie Bissett Roy.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and earned his bachelor's degree from Lander University, Greenwood, SC.  Mr. Roy, a human resource manager, was formerly employed at Greenwood Mills in Greenwood, SC and Fashion Fabrics in Orangeburg, SC. 

Mr. Roy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Roy of Summerville, SC; daughter, Kandy Ramos and her husband Marc of Snowshoe, WV; sons, Robin Roy of Summerville, SC and Kevin Roy and his wife Tammy of Swansea, SC; brother, Brad Roy and his wife Joyce of Fitchburg, MA; sisters, Marjorie Roy and her husband Donald Maltais of Stark, NH and Rebecca Roberge  and her husband Chippy of Berlin, NH; brother in law Larry Dion of Brooksville, FL; grandchildren:  Terry Roy, Megan Roy and Allie Roy; step-grandchildren:  Courtney and Eric Still and Cody Creech. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Roy and sister Dorothy Dion.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM followed by military honors.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Wednesday, August 24, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
