Allen Edgar Atchley

Allen Edgar Atchley, 66, of Charleston, South Carolina, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the service in the Downtown Chapel until 6:30p.m.

Allen was born July 11, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida, son of the late Fielding Theodore Atchley Sr. and Lorrayne Brittain Atchley. He attended the University of South Carolina. Allen was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He loved the Lowcountry, it's rich history and was a Charleston Professional Tour Guide.

Allen is survived by his daughter, Amber L. Whaley (Justin) of Charleston, SC; two sons: Dr. Allen E. Atchley, Jr. (Rebecca) of Chattanooga, TN and Eric J. Atchley of Charleston, SC; brother, F. Ted Atchley, Jr.; six grandchildren: Jackson Whaley, Rhett Whaley, Emma Atchley, Olivia Atchley, Caroline Atchley and Eli Atchley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Ples Atchley.
