Allan Martin Levin, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 22, 2022. His  Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 24, 2022 in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 2:00 pm.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Allan was born June 19, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Samuel Levin and Ida Schreiberg Levin.  He attended Charleston High School and Kingstree High School where he played football.  Allan attended Newberry College. He was a Navy Veteran and a Charleston County Tax Assessor. He was active all of his life and loved sports.  He was a big fan of Citadel sports, where he kept the clock at the football games for many years.  Throughout most of his life, he jogged 5 miles or swam laps each day.  He never missed a Little League or High School Baseball or Basketball game when his nephew were playing.  He was a member of Brith Sholom Beth Israel Congregation, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Masonic Lodge.    

He is survived by his sister, Mitzi Kirshtein of Charleston, SC; nephews Stanford Kirshtein and Michael Kirshtein; and nieces, Janice Kirshtein Turner and Cheryl Levin.  He was predeceased by two brothers, James Edward Levin and Henry Burton Levin.
