Allan Livingstain

Allan  Livingstain, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Janet  Livingstain entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 15, 2023. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Birth Shalom Beth Israel cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
 
Allan was born December 5, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Leo H.  Livingstain and Theresa Livingstain, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Priscilla Miller Livingstain.  He was a graduate of the Citadel in 1951 and a US Army veteran. 

He was the owner of Harris Livingstain Company and Lighting Showplace. He was also active in many organizations, including Marine Lodge, Master of Masons, Scottish Right and Omar Shrine. Allan was a Master Mason 32nd degree, Friendship Lodge No. 9, AFM and life member of A&A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, USA. He worked for the Lighthouse for the Blind, SCORE and other charitable organizations.

 He is survived by his Daughters, Marcia (Bill) Lerner; and Mary (Howard) Traxler; son, Harris M. (Laura) Livingstain, Bruce Oberman,(Kristi), Moshe (Lee) Oberman (Karyn); Paul Oberman (Rebecca), and Claire Perlstein (Scott); sister, Ann Mandel; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 
 
Memorials may be made to Birth Shalom Beth Israel Synagogue,  Hospice and a charity of your choice.
