Xan joyfully attended Mt. Pleasant Academy, Charleston School of the Arts, Bishop England High School and was finishing his education at Clemson University. At each of these schools, Xan easily befriended students and teachers to form life-long connections. He loved baseball and played on teams throughout elementary, middle and high school. Xan's family and friends knew him for his infectious smile, sense of humor, love of Mt. Pleasant's Old Village, fondness for rap music, impeccable taste in athletic footwear and an encyclopedic knowledge of sports statistics (especially Clemson Football). At Clemson, Xan's love of food and fitness led him to pursue a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition and will be awarded his degree posthumously in May. He pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) and could be counted on to lead the celebrations at pre-game football parties before enthusiastically cheering on his beloved Tigers.
Xan had a kind soul and was a friend to everyone he met. He often claimed his spirit animal was a Boykin Spaniel named Buoy.
