Alexander Scott Ratley, known as Alex to his family & friends, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was at the young age of 18. Alex lived in Charleston, South Carolina & was born in Charleston County. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. 
   
Alex was born December 21, 2004. He graduated from Ashley Ridge High School in May 2023. He was looking forward to enrolling at a local trade school to learn welding, hoping to one day open his own business alongside is father. Alex was employed at Patrick Properties. He loved his job & grew close to the employees there. Alex enjoyed working out with his friends, listening to music, gaming with his brother & friends, and hanging out with his family.

Alex is survived by his father Scott Ratley (Susan), mother Tami Ardoin, brothers Austin Caldwell & Dylan Ardoin, grandparents Claude & Gwen Irelan & Debbie Zepp. In addition he is survived by aunts Kristi (Mark) & Tiffani (Mike), uncles Chris (Amber), Ahmed, & Scott (Susie) & cousins JC, McKenna, Andrew, Ethan & Reese. Alex is preceded in death by Grandpa (Jim Zepp) & Nan (Denise Mabrouk). His dogs Jet, Hank, & Dallas will also miss him dearly. “Though Alex left this world way too soon, he left our world a better place."

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday July 9, 2023 at Lowndes Grove, 266 St. Margaret St., Charleston, SC. Times will be posted on Facebook in a few days.
