Alec Daniel Barbee, 22, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 14, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Northwood Baptist Church, 2200 Greenridge Road in North Charleston. Services will begin promptly at 6:15 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Alec was born April 1, 1998 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Gerald "Chad" Barbee (Crystal Rose) and Danielle R. Helms (Iván Roldan). He was employed as a mechanic at Jones Ford in North Charleston. His affinity for tinkering, taking things apart and putting them back together was one reason that he became a mechanic. For his age, Alec was definitely an "old soul". He was a bright, loving individual who absolutely loved his family above all else; he always put his family first. In his free time, Alec was a Gamer and from a young age, he had a love for aeronautics. This was a passion that he closely shared with his father, Chad. He built and flew Radio Controlled aircraft (RC) for fun, and was serious enough about flight that he enrolled in Flight School at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He also enjoyed going to annual car shows, photography, graphic arts and creating beautiful things on canvas.
He is survived by sister, Tiffany Nichole Barbee; girlfriend, Anna Presson; grandparents, James (Mary) Dick, Fredia Barbee and Donna Majalca; aunts and uncles, Sharon (Gene) AuBuchon, Renee (Jason) Powers, Jason (Stacy) Keller, Rebekah (Robert) Mashburn, Brandon (Nicole) Dick, Aline (Zlati) Matushev, Deidre Barbee, Miracle (Jason) Herman, Jonathan Barbee, Eddie and Lidia Majalca; cousins, Evie, Meagan and Nora AuBuchon; Kevin and Caroline Mashburn; Cady, Haley and Trevor Dick; Nadia Blanche, Joshua Barbee, Ashton McClendon, Malachi Barbee, Nick and Kirsten Cook; Cody, Kaitlyn and Caleb Herman; Makayla and Jerris Barbee.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Faris Barbee.
