Albert "Al" Moore Hall, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois on April 19, 1937, Al's life was a testament to his unwavering intellect, gentle spirit, and dedication to his family.
Al graduated from Purdue University in 1966, where he earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. While at Purdue, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta social fraternity. His career in the healthcare industry was marked by innovation and a commitment to improving lives. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Al was a man of diverse interests. He found joy in the quiet pursuits of online chess, stamp collecting, and jigsaw puzzles and was a persistent, life-long investor.
Al married the love of his life, Elaine Atkinson Hall. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared passions. His legacy extends to his son, Randolph Hall, and daughter in law, Kimberly, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Carson and Caroline Hall. He is also survived by his brother in law, Matt Rode, niece, Susie and nephew, Steve. Al is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Hall, and his sister, Marina Rode.
Al's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His gentle nature, sharp wit, and unwavering support will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to Colleen Ladson and Precious Frazier for wonderful care and companionship during the last few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Turbeville or the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends at their Mount Pleasant residence on Sunday, December 15th from 3-5pm. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 23rd at First Baptist Church of Turbeville Cemetery, located on Hwy. 301.
