Alan M. Solomon

Alan M. Solomon, 92, passed away peacefully in Charleston, South Carolina, on September 15, 2026. Born in Far Rockaway, New York, he devoted his life to his family, career, service, and many passions.

Alan shared 69 years with his beloved wife, Sheila “Shelli” Solomon, the love of his life and his partner in countless adventures. They met while attending the University of Miami and built a life together centered on family, friendship, and shared experiences. Shelli preceded him in death in 2023.

A respected trial attorney, Alan was a founding member of Solomon, Krupnikoff and Wyskiel in Meriden, Connecticut, where he practiced for most of his career. He was admitted to practice law in Connecticut, Florida, Vermont and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Alan had a lifelong love of sports. He played varsity basketball at the University of Miami and remained an avid fan of Miami basketball and football throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing tennis and skiing, passions he shared for many years with his family and friends.

Alan was also an avid automobile collector, car-show participant and Judge, and a participant in the Great Race/Road Rally Across America. His other interests included stamp collecting, photography, and travel.

Vermont held a special place in Alan’s heart. He took great pride in owning and caring for he and Shelli’s mountain home, where they cherished the sweeping views of the Waitsfield Valley and three surrounding ski areas and the memories they made there with their family and friends.

Alan is survived by his children, Keith Solomon and his partner, Carrie Giuliano; Dr. Kerry Solomon and his wife, Cindi Solomon; and Kim Dooley; his grandchildren, Brandon Solomon, Coleman Solomon, Logan Dooley, Sydney Giuliano, and CJ Giuliano; his sister in law Ginette Quintal Solomon; and his nieces Dyan Solomon and her partner Sandra Soto and Lisa Solomon.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila “Shelli” Solomon, his son Dean Solomon, and his brother, Dr. Leon Solomon.
