Aileen Simmons Meetze

Aileen Simmons Meetze, 60, wife of Jack Alexander Meetze, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2012. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning, February 13, 2012 at 10:30 in Christ Our King Catholic Church. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Aileen was born on August 12, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, daughter of the late Elizabeth Marburg Simmons and Julian Reed Simmons, Jr. She was a graduate of Moultrie High School, Class of '69, and attended Palmer College as well as the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU in Baton Rouge LA. She began her career in banking at The C & S Bank of SC and worked through many bank mergers until she retired as Senior Vice President at Bank of America. She reentered the banking industry as Senior Vice President of The Bank of South Carolina.

She is survived by her husband Jack, her father, Cmdr. Julian Reed Simmons, Jr. USN (Ret) of Mt Pleasant, her sister, Vicki Simmons Walker and her husband Tom of Mt Pleasant, their sons Thomas Walker of Atlanta and Matthew Walker of Mt. Pleasant, and Aileen's brother Julian Reed Simmons III, of Mt. Pleasant. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, Allie and Beth Simmons both of Mt. Pleasant; her nephews, JR Simmons IV (and his wife Jen), Russell Simmons, and Brad Simmons; her Aunts, Rosemarie Strong, Irmgard Titus, and Joan Simmons all of Mt. Pleasant; and her uncles, Vance Simmons (and his wife Jennie) of Mt. Pleasant and Ernst Marburg (and his wife Judy) of Abingdon VA, and numerous cousins, friends and business associates. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vance Simmons.
