Adelaide Wilson Neal, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Robert Smith Neal entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Her funeral service for family and friends will be held at the graveside on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 12:00pm. Arrangements by J. Adelaide was born June 7, 1930 in Erie, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Clair J. Wilson and Anna Mary Pope Wilson. She was married to Robert Neal, the love of her life for 68 years. She was in the first graduating class to include women at UNC Wilmington. She was a longtime resident of both Wilmington and Raleigh, North Carolina, prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant. Adelaide spent her life serving others in the school system, the public as a Tax Payer Service Representative and her entire family and granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Robert S. Neal; daughter, Cynthia Neal Ruddy (Robert); son, Roy Douglas Neal; two granddaughters,Taylor Ruddy and Lauren Ruddy all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Jack Wilson of Arlington, VA.
The family would like to thank the staff and physicians in the MUSC Emergency Room and the 8th floor east wing for providing incredible care for Mom.
