A. Ryan Allen, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, formally of New York and husband of Stephanie Samaras Allen entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 11, 2018. A memorial will be announced later. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Ryan was born May 15, 1943 in Columbia, South Carolina, son of the late Frank C. Allen and Elizabeth Carolyn Crow Allen. He was a graduate of Austin College and received his Masters Degree from the University of Texas. He was a Professional Opera Singer with the Metropolitan Opera Company and was a member of New York Light Opera Quartet, along with several opera companies throughout the United States and Canada. While in Charleston, Ryan became a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church Choir.
Ryan is survived by his wife Stephanie; brother, Thomas B. Allen (Harriet) of Charleston, SC; nephew, Sean T. Allen of Columbia, SC; and niece, Elizabeth L. Allen of Colorado.
The memorial service will be announced.
