John Singleton Kirk Gu?rard

John Singleton Kirk Gu�rard, 17, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died at the Denver's Children's Hospital on May 11, 2011, due to complications during the treatment of leukemia. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service, Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 3:00 pm in St. Philip's Episcopal Church.  Inurnment, Churchyard. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Wednesday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

Kirk was a student at Wando High School from 2008-2010.  He continued high school and worked at the Mt. Carmel Ranch near Cody, WY, where he ran heavy machinery and was a ranch hand.  He was to graduate from high school at the ranch by June, 2011.  He loved running heavy machinery and intended to continue this vocation when he returned home to South Carolina.  Kirk was a gentleman and his parents will forever be grateful to the good people at the ranch who loved and supported him. He had a tremendous affect on the lives of all he touched.  Kirk will be mourned and missed by many.

He is survived by his parents: J. H. Walker Gu�rard, Jr. and Beatriz F. Gu�rard of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sisters: Lori E. Gu�rard, Emilia D. Gu�rard, and Sophia C. Gu�rard. He was predeceased by his mother, Peggy H. Gu�rard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ronald McDonald House for the kindness and generosity that was extended to him and his family.
