Leon Little Robinson, Jr.

Leon Little Robinson Jr., 85, of Mount Pleasant, SC passed away on September 24, 2024. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Ave. in Charleston at 11:00 am. A gathering will follow the service in the courtyard at 1505 King Street Extension. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Leon was born July 12, 1939, at Baker Hospital in Charleston, SC. He graduated from Moultrie HIgh School and attended the University of South Carolina.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Lila Hilton Robinson and Leon Little Robinson.

Leon is survived by his wife, Lila Wehman Robinson; his four sons, Lee Jones (Hethur), Blair Jones (Karla), David Robinson (Teri), and Matthew Robinson; his daughter Sarah Scruggs (Aaron) and his four grandchildren, David Robinson Jr., Andrew Robinson, Logan Evans, and Caroline Evans. 

Leon lived the majority of his life in Charleston where he married Lila on September 1, 1973. He worked for many years at South Carolina National Bank. His most favorite jobs though came after he left the bank. He enjoyed having his own business at the CIty Market where he sold sports memorabilia and shared his love of Charleston and its history with everyone he talked to. His love of sports later led him to coach girls and boys basketball at Mason Prep School where he won twenty-five championships. He touched many people’s lives during his fourteen years of coaching. 

More than anything, Leon loved his wife and family with all his heart. Nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Cooper Meals on Wheels or the Roper St. Francis Foundation, Hospice Home Health. The family is very appreciative of the care Leon received.
