Charleston, SC - Cameron Payne Drolet, 54, entered into eternal life Sunday June 9, 2024. Cameron was born July 4, 1969, in Charleston, SC, a beloved son of Carol James Drolet and the late Michael Raymond Drolet and grandson of the late Elizabeth and Truman James and Mary Ellen and Raymond Drolet.
An avid athlete with an adventurous spirit, Cameron spent his early years playing baseball, tennis, and backyard games; and going on camping trips with his two brothers and father. He graduated from Summerville High School and attended Baptist College. From an early age, Cameron knew he wanted to build and fix things, which led to his successful career in construction. Over a span of 35 years, Cameron successfully started and grew construction companies. He was a founding partner of Chastain Construction where he was a General Contractor, retiring in 2018. Cameron was a loving and devoted father, who was very proud of his children. He was always willing to make sacrifices for their well-being and happiness. He celebrated their many milestones and successes.
Cameron is predeceased by his father, Michael Drolet, and niece, Harper Drolet. He is survived by his mother, Carol, and his three children, Caroline MacKay Drolet, Cameron Payne Drolet Jr., and Jameson Taylor Drolet. He is also survived by his brothers, James M. Drolet (Amy) and Daniel A. Drolet Sr. (Millie), and sister Cashion Drolet, along with nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Old St. Andrews Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road at 10:00 am. Interment to immediately follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.
